iPhunny and Giglish are shutting down on June 30th, 2011

iPhunny and Giglish will shut-down permanently on June 30th, 2011 for the reasons mentioned in the earlier post.

Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to find any other company to take over our publishing operations. Apparently other companies also dislike business models where publishing costs exceed subscription and advertising revenue

We are thankful for and appreciate the offers from readers to help, but do not believe there is a viable alternative to keep iPhunny and Giglish running, even in a modified reduced-cost mode.

iPhunny and Giglish will stop publishing new jokes effective Monday, June 20th. We will be running repeat jokes from previous years till June 30th, at which point all publishing operations will cease, and iPhunny and Giglish will ride away into the sunset.

It was a fun ride while it lasted. Thankyou for all your support over the years.

iPhunny and Giglish are shutting down

iPhunny and Giglish are going to shut-down permanently on June 30th, 2011 as the revenue from iPhunny subscriptions and Giglish advertising is not growing quickly enough to cover operational costs.

We had hoped to continue to provide daily late night jokes across platforms for a long time. Unfortunately, the demand for humor of this kind is just not high enough to generate sufficient subscription revenue in the paid app model or generate sufficient advertising revenue in the free model.

iPhunny and Giglish will continue to publish during April, May and June to fulfill  90-day iPhunny subscription commitments processed in March.

We have already stopped selling new apps and subscriptions and renewals for iPhunny. If your iPhunny subscription has expired and you would like to continue receiving daily updates till June 30th, please send a blank email to freecode at iphunny dot com and we will email you a free subscription code.
